NAR projects located in the in the MISO or SPP footprints have the option, and are strongly recommended, to utilize the automatic monthly MWh reporting service provided by both entities. MWh data will be uploaded on a monthly basis 2 months following the end of the generation month. For example, January MWh data will be uploaded into NAR in early April. Following the MWh upload from MISO and SPP, the NAR account holder will have an opportunity to review and approve (or disapprove) the data for REC issuance.
- To select MISO or SPP as the reporting entity for your project, access your project registration form. For new projects this is accomplished by clicking the Register New Asset link in the Asset Management module. For existing projects this is accomplished by clicking the hyperlinked Asset name in the Asset Management module.
- Navigate to the second page of the project registration form.
- See the Reporting Entity and State/Provincial/Voluntary Admin Access section of the second page.
- Select Midcontinent ISO or Southwest Power Pool from the Reporting Entity dropdown list
- In the Reporting Entity ID/Control Area Settlement Location field, enter the relevant CP Node (MISO) or Settlement Location (SPP) for the project, as modeled within the MISO or SPP settlement system. If you are unsure what this ID is, please reach out to MISO or SPP for guidance.

- Continue and submit/save the project registration form.
- Separately, fill out and email the relevant Release Form to the NAR administrator. This form authorizes MISO and SPP to upload data for the project in to NAR.
-
- MISO Release Form - one form required per project
- SPP Release Form - one form required per account
-
- Upon receiving the release form, the NAR administrator will complete the project onboarding process with MISO and SPP.
The uploaded MWh data from MISO and SPP represent the settlement data captured in each of their settlement systems. Should the uploaded MWhs not match your expectations, please dispute the MWh data in your NAR account, and reach out to MISO or SPP to inquire about the MWh data in question, and initiate the appropriate MISO or SPP adjustment process as appropriate.
